Just found this thread, always had a soft spot for the Marina ever since my Dad had one of the "Jubilee" models, it was far from standard with some tweeks inside the old B series engine that really made it fly, trouble was we were tuning the carbs almost weekly  I was gutted when he sold it to ...

Hotwire AFM's dont like water mud etc, been there done that :) try to unplug it and have a drive I think that should prove if it's faulty as the car should run reasonably OK without it, the idle might be a bit high thats all as far as I can remember.

Ben

If you want to ditch the dizzy then you will need some form of ECU to generate the sparks etc, that will in turn need at very least a crank sensor with trigger wheel, it doesn't have to be too costly but I guess that depends on your budget.

Whats the reason for the change ?

I think the injectors are different as well they are high impedance on the hot wire system and low impedance on the flapper system, there are I am sure some other things that are not campatible as well, if you want to use a hot wire injection system then probably best to get a used system second han...

I had a similar issue on my Small Block Chevy and yup ots was the preload on one rocker that was causing it.

Now sorted and runs nice and quiet, well as quiet as a SBC with a straight through exhaust can do :)

I had my exhaust and manifolds etc made by one of there franchises up here in the north, excellent quality and top guys to boot. It was expensive with the CATS as well but I would deffo recommend there stuff. You should get a lifetime warrenty as well.

Some mad thoughts

OK so how easy would it be to fit a RWD axle setup into something like a Renault Espace, I have some mad thoughts about different engines and drive configuration for my mums old car and as its worth about nothing it would be an ideal (ie cheap) candidate for a project. Was thinking of a mid engined ...

Brake Upgrade on Range Rover P38

So now I can make my car go  I need to make it stop, I have the Alcon callipers that were fitted by Overfinch but I need some mounting brackets and rotors / mounting bells made.

Anyone got any recommendations for engineering firms that do this?

I am one happy bunny again  now all I have to do is get the new brakes fitted, find a dual channel TPS and fit i...
