Well given that another sensor is going to be the easiest to install (did I just say that  ) then that is what I will do and wire it straight back to the connector on the MS, that way I should be able to completely rule any issues with the sensor. As an aside the trigger wheel is quite large a...

Well it doesnt look too bad to me, I couldnt see the plug properly but it does look a bit darker than expected, the poor starting could be a fuel issue I guess, have you checked the injectors are they leaking or staying open at all. Also might be worthn checking that the engine coolant sensor for th...

I have ordered a new sensor, connector and cable, just been thinking about this a bit more as well, the sensor is running both the MS and the ECU that was used by Overfinch to stop various faults showing on the dash as the engine ECU talks to the BECM, this is a Range Rover P38. So what I will do is...

It has run well as it is, I changed the plugs cos it really needed them and the coil packs were changed due to some cracks in the plastic allowing some tracking, all wires are earthed correctly as they were done by Shaun of MS Tuning fame when I had serious issues with it. I am sure its going to be ...

Yup plugs are resitive they are the NGK LPG2 type which after many chats with NGK were the recommended ones and because of there Iridium and Platinum contacts means I can safely use a 1.0mm gap which is best for the LPG system. Yes it did run absolutely perfectly on this setup for a whole 2 weeks :)...

well given the relatively low cost I will give it a try, done all the other bits like checking earths etc and as the sensor was the one put on the car in 2000 I guess it may be past its best.

Trial and error well sort of is the only way I can go I think as all has either been replaced or checked :(

New sensor (VR Type) connector cables etc ordered, the MS I have is pretty up to date and Phil was happy that the 60-2 works ok on it, was only using the old Hall sensor as that was already on the car, guess I am booking a few hours in the man cave this weekend :)

Thats what Overfinch put on when the conversion was done, I suppose it might not hurt to look at a 36-1 instead.......

Yes was running absolutely perfect after changing the coils etc, then Saturday it was a refuse to start, think I will rewire the HALL sensor as I know that could have issues.

As for the sync loss it happens a few times then stops and the trace is clear, I am sure it will be a simple fix in the end :)

mmmm you could be onto something there it does show an occasional loss maybe its getting past its sell by date, I know its as close to the trigger ring as I dare go without binding, also I know when the MS was installed that the cable was joined so that could be worth a look.

Any more ideas?

Arghhh Cars !!!!!!

As some of you may know I was going to Shakey last weekend until the darned car failed to start, no amount of coaxing and testing would help so before I invested in a packet of petrol tank matches I thought I would leave it alone. So armed with a little more patience on Sunday afternoon, went out wi...

So I load up get in and start the car, ok not starting turning over but not firing, I give up gonna leave it there before I am tempted to beat the living you know what out if it with a crowbar. So won't be coming now to say I am unimpressed would be an understatement :(
