Mines definatly not a serpentine engine. The oil does look fairly black so im going to change that tommorow.

I think ill change the pressure switch and the pressure relief valve too and see what happens.

Surely if there was no oil pressure at all the lifters would be very noisy ?

Its a gas converted range rover, apparantly since a garage has replaced the coil the car no longer switches to lpg. Im guessing either the wires are mixed up on the coil or not been refitted at all ? Can...

You say in the ignition post that you run a wideband lambda system. Where did you get it from mate ? What sort of cash are these and are they difficult to fit. Have considered fitting a loop control lambda system for the lpg but they aint cheap. Also seen some vacuum operated mixture control setups ...

range rover timing

Whats the best timing setting to use for my lpg ed 1990 3.9. I want a compromise so it will run as best as possible on gas but still drivable on petrol.

Checked today its got 14 degrees static with the vac pipe disconnected. Runs well on gas but pinks on petrol.

Been having a few running problems the last couple of days.

Intermittantly my v8 will pop back through the inlet whilst running on gas.

Guessing its ignition related but my coil is new lucas, new bosch plugs cap and rotor look in good condition.

ideally you need an oscilloscope to check the switching of the low tension circuit.

Im led to believe with lucas ignition systems - amps often fail, coils rarely fail.

Was running perfect before the wiring burnt out. Its wired exactly as it should be a company called simtek refurbed my loom and theve made a spot on job.

Ive tried disconnecting the feed to the ecu i think its only a reference wire for engine speed.
