Some spring is still needed even with solid spacer tubes IMHO, all you are doing is to try & remove the gross lateral movement that the original springs require, but I think you still need to consider: - Thermal expansion - Trying to keep rocker arm sideways movement limited - Friction on the si...

Sounds to me like the seal at the back of the cam hasn't been seated deeply enough.

I wouldn't worry as long as the cam spins freely with the chain fitted.

I made my own for KB's including the central pedestals, cost around £130 at local engineers made up in aerospace alloy.

Can send you the drawings if you want. I also have the dims for alloy spacers to replace the springs (just fit spring shim washers to allow for expansion).
