You could probably just stick the Range Rover P38 17" fan on it, and be done with any worries about cooling! Chris. I could, I will have a look, but I've already cut the threaded part of the new pump! Just found this thread, always had a soft spot for the Marina ever since my Dad had one of the "Ju...

Thanks Chris.

That certainly looks more accommodating for my fans and radiator.

Well it's been a while since I updated this thread. Progress has been slow but we now have an LT77 instead of the ZF, a TR7 axle with 4 link, coil-overs and watts linkage (still to be tuned), and a new front panel and Chevy radiator. Space is tight so will be converting to a GEMS cover and megajolt ...

Thanks for the additional info. Duely noted.

All parts added to my shopping list.

For the Cam, am I right in saying I could just use the 4.0 GEMS cam (Land Rover)? I assume this is the same profile as my 3.9?

That's what I'm thinking.. Although, the engine I have is such low mileage and I've documentation to back it up I'm loathed to swap it out. Am I correct that the interim engine's crank is the long type and therefor drives the oil pump? If so then I could change the cover, fit a trigger and wheel and...

Thanks all for the reply's. My main reason for change is that I had heard that the later non dizzy front covers were about 40mm shallower than the one I have with the dizzy. I need all the space I can get up front as it's a bit of a squeeze in the engine bay. My other issue is ground clearance and a...

Convert 3.9 serp with dizzy to GEMS ignition

Hi all. I did do a quick search but didn't find a definitive answer. Can I swap a 3.9 intermediate front cover for a later type (without dizzy) and then fit a sump and oil pickup from a later engine? Could I also swap the loom around and ecu to fuel the intermediate engine so to use the coil packs? ...

FB5036 is not a proper part number, so that doesn't help much. Maybe you just have to manually turn the input shaft and count the output shaft! Chris. I did do that, although it's the input shaft I'm wondering about as its thicker than the SD1 type I've got and what clutch plate that would match up...

Can anyone help ID this LDV Part Number on LT77?

Hi all, My car is running a Rover V8 (4ltr) and I was told this box was a factory rebuilt LDV 400 series LT77, Part number FB5306 as stamped on the housing. It looks like it was an exchange unit as you can make out the original number of 28A*****D. From the LDV part number and pictures, could anyone...

Thanks again, Dave. I'd be interested to see the Rover 800 bracket since these would be easier to source. I've seen MGF/Maestro solid discs work with these axles, but with the machining on the disc rather than the drive shaft. Having the TR7 PCD would make that better for fitment too. I guess it's t...

Excellent information, Markus.

Have either of you got any photos of your conversions?
