can you not release them from the old ECU plug ?

if you have an early one its easy to add the wiring the places are there on the connector , just follow the diagram on here and add the bits that are missing on yours
..if you have the correct ECU them no probs :)

Bit of a generic thing to say they dont work on RV8's Given they dont know what ecu, what ignition system etc and the fact they've been used over a 30year range. A bit more info as to what they do require to make them work would be better, or reasons as to why they dont work with a RV8, which again...

Awesome thanks for the link, will get the McGill one, I only need the motor inside anyway as its going to be driving an original needle over a new facia. Thanks guys! Call mcgill first , they do say on their ebay ad that the rev counters DON'T work on rover V8's so worth a call first ... i did and ...
