Hi
I have these holes in one of my heads that I am fitting, anyone any idea of the bolt sizes I will need to blank them off?

Thanks

Hi

"One of the bolt holes at each end of the head is of a larger diameter than the same in the original P6 head."

How do you ovewrcome this? I take it the P6 cylinder head bolts are too small then to fit and the bigger bolts are too big for the block?

Thanks Kevin

Is that because the 14 head bolts worked with the Buick engine and heads? Just wondering really!!

So have the blocks always had 14 holes but only 10 were used to start with and then 14 and now back to 10?

Thank you very much Sidecar. Just as a matter of interest would I have the 4 outer holes in a P6 block if they are a later addition that has now been discontinued?

Hi Thank you again for all you help, I hadn't realised there was so much to consider! I only do about 1500 miles a year and and rarely rev above 4000 and that would be overtaking! I have a spare set of tin gaskets that came with the car and think I will use them, it sounds a lot easier! I think they...

Hi TC

Any idea of how much I will need to have them skimmed or do I put the heads on and measure the preload? Then see if they need skimming?

Hi
If I get some SD1 or 3.9 heads and they don't have the rockers, pedestals or push rods, can I use the ones off my P6 heads?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I should have said that the only reason I am changing the heads rather than putting new valves in is so that I can use unleaded petrol. Also the later heads have bigger valves so I thought I might get a bit extra power as well. The engine is a standard P6, no fancy bits and t...
