I don't know the set up in your landy , but i would think if you plumbed the pipe from the carb tower to the expansion bottle it would flood , the expansion bottle is just a space for the expanded liquid to migrate to and return to the system as it cools . The pipe out of the top of the carb tower ( blocked off with a short hose and bolt ) needs to be plumbed into the top of the header tank , it allows flow and prevents air lock in the tower , helping keep the carbs cool and avoid vaporisation

Thanks guys . I don't do many miles in Her , She gets used a couple of times a week , Shopping and shows , spot of rumbling around at the weekends . Thanks for nice comments and advice guys . It was only a top end overhaul though , the engine's only done 68k i could see honing marks on the bores . So piston / rings not touched . I'll certainly give it a thrash though :D

I'm pretty certain 20/50 was the factory spec oil for the UK up until '83 when it changed to 10/40. I know it's the right oil , just wondering about running it that hard from cold being thicker . I know other p6 people have , but they didn't read this first . Wishing i hadn't now ! ignorance being ...

I fitted the pump upgrade around a year ago , and the pressure/flow is good . What i am looking for is the tadpole type of relief valve as mine sticks shut sometimes .
