Thanks for the replies guys, so much for hoping it would be a quick job, back to the drawing board I think. I have an extreme off road 90 and the belt slips a bit when the winch is on sometimes and I want to upgrade my steering pump to a 110 bar system and I think one belt will struggle maybe better...

V belt to serpentine

Is it possible (easy) to convert a flapper 3.5 with a v belt to a serpentine belt? I know I will need the bottom pulley, water pump and power steering pulleys plus a tensioner, but will it fit on? I have a110amp alternator and will be upgrading the power steering pump and I think its all too much fo...

Hmmmm.. I was wondering about the dizzy but its not that old so kind of disregarded it, as you say on idle with 20' in hg of depression the vacuum should advance it up quite a lot the throttle blip collapses that vacuum but that aside if the vac was faulty it would already be close to static so wou...

Hi Ramon, A few changes since that post, the AFM is now normally mounted and only 6 inches from the butterfyl, the rising rate few pressure regulator is ok, 36 psi with no vacuum and 26 psi idling. Checked everything again today Injector Ohms as per book as was thermal switch, AFM, TPS, timing where...

Stuttery engine on throttle blip

I have a flapper efi in my landy which is only really an off road toy, it runs fine seems to have a good bit of power but for ages it has always had a stutter when you blip the throttle when at idle. I have checked and rechecked everything, metered out the loom etc but I cannot seem to to find the c...

First off I got the old girl started today, i forgot to attach the wire to the over run relay DOH! So it does run and start ok with a ballasted coil, I think its running better as well, next time out will show any kinks I guess. The AEV is still not closing properly, the connection is ok now I think...

ramon, You certainly know your V8's thanks for the excellent replies, either that or you are a typing addict? :) I understand about remote diagnosis I get it a lot for other things of which I am knowledgable but I still hate ' the thing by the red thing is loose' anyway I digress. The rising rate fu...

Did it bit more poking about today, it seems the extra air valve is at fault well the connection anyway, would not close off fully, but after a poke and prod it seems to now, guess i'll know next time I start it. The overun is set to trip at 24 inhg by the book so the hunting might have caused that....

Thanks for the reply. The relay issue is a bit weird, my manifold vacuum is at 21 at idl, wonder if its too high? To the best of my knowledge everything else is dead on, I have got all the tech pages for flappers so everything has been metered and checked ok. CO% was set at 3% thereabouts, maybe tha...
