4.0L heads for 3.5L block?

Hi, I found that this would be incompatible. But in my opinion I can use the new heads for the 3.5L block when using the composite gasket, optaining similar compression ratio than with the old design. As it was said many times about the third row of screws there is no need for. Please has anybody do...

Change timing for piper cam and 3.5L auto?

Hello guys, the problem of my combination is, in engaging the gear the rpm is dropping to about 500 to 600 where the engine stalls already due to the Piper 270 cam. The power is very good else, revolving up to about 5700 and 215km/h on the clock, with SU's, BAC needles, Stage 1 heads. Can I improve ...

Sorry, my mistake, I meant skimming 0.3 mm. According to your calculation this would lead to a compression ratio of 9.55:1, as I had assumed.
What's with the timing in this case. Actually its 8° degrees advance statically.

Compression ratio improvement for an 4L engine

Hi, I bought a new 4 L engine for my SD1, actually running well with SU carbs and BW Automatic, standard 3.9L cam. I already tried my edelbrock carb and found a huge increase in acceleration, but I have to improve the selfmade assembly first. Now I think about tuning the 4L engine, especially skimmi...

New 4L engine in SD1 water was pressed out of the filler cap

Hi, The new 4L engine was driven now for 2000 km and runs very well with SU carbs. No water in cylinders I could find. With new waterpump and thermo coupling, now a new 75° thermostate and new filler cap keeping 20 psi. Every time the engine warms up, short before thermostate opens, water was rising...

Hi, thank you for your answer. It sounds that you are talking about different carbs than mine. Mine are SU Hif6 carbs and have small screws sideway for adjusting the mixture when idling, using a screwdriver to adjust. Your decripion is for a HS6 carb for example? But most of the description fits to ...

Adjusting my SU carbs

Hi, After rebuilding, my car has driven only 60 km and I couldn't adjust my carbs yet. First I want to adjust the screws for the air/fuel mixture of my SU carbs. I have no idea, from which point I should start. Actually they are about 4 turns out and sparks are looking black coated. I cant drive on ...

More stroke for 3.5L engine

Hi,

does anybody know the cheapest and best way to increase the stroke of a 3.5L engine?
An increase to 82 mm would be enough for me.

Thank you.
Kind regards
Christof
