Hotwire looms advice

Hi I'm after a bit of advice really. I have been running a 3.9 Hot Wire injection system out of a Rangie in my 90 for a couple of years now. I have never been able to get it running just right. Anyway recently the orginal 3.9 has developed a thirst for water and a written off 3.9 Disco ES came up fo...

I have tried that but it really seems to make do difference in the richness.

Unless there is something making it error again.

Ironically enough if it in get you home mode it's not very good cause I normal end up getting towed home.

Another maybe daft question

Right I have come to the conclusion that my 3.9Efi Hotwire is drastically over fueling. So much so that not only is it fouling the plugs on tick over it also has so much fuel it runs down the bores and contaminates the oil and my oil level rises constantly. So here comes the question. What tells the...

No 7 is fairly poor, the diff between the lowest and highest should be no more than 10%. Its easy to find out if the compression is caused by bad rings tho as you add oil to the pistons and if the compression comes up its rings, if it doesn't its valves. Could well be your valves are all gummed up ...

Are the plugs just wet and old, It may just be sticky rings, Have you tried new plugs and check the gaps, if it is stickey rings it could be worth squirting WD40 or Diesel down the plugholes and leaving for a few days, and turning the engine over every now and then with the plugs out. Ian :D I'm on...

They get fouled to the point where the engine doesn't start and I have to clean all the plugs.

The fact it was across all the cylinders I was hoping it might have been the rubber seals.

I was scared incase it's the rings.

Plugs fouling

Hi I have recently converted my 90 from a 3.5 to a 3.9 Efi. The 3.9Efi I fitted had been sitting around for a few years not exactly sure how many. Anyway the plugs keep getting fouled with black oil type goo. My thoughts would be the valve seals are shot from standing round too long without oil. Bef...

Ah now this is interesting. I have the one in from my orginal 3.5 V8 Carb'd rather then the one from the 3.9 because it never made any readings. Is I didn't think that the temperature sensor was linked in the loom to the ecu? So that brings the next question is it the switch which has 2 prongs or th...

Cool thanks I hoped not.

Is there any reason why I can not lean off my mixture. I'm running at about about 8% Co2 at the moment and adjusting the mixture screw seems to make no difference.

What am I missing?

Cheers
