Update: 13th May, 2016. I finally pulled the 2.5 V6 TDI motor from my 2000 B5 A4 Quattro. I actually pulled it on my driveway, as B5 420-R was on jack stands in front of my garage. It was fun pushing the stripped car back and forth, manoeuvring it into my garage once I replaced the alternator and p...

My aluminium radiator has a pinhole leak from the core. Rather than fix it, I'm taking my spare aluminium radiator to get the pipes on the left hand side removed, and welded over. And new pipes welded in place to match the V8's hoses on the right. So the bumper is still off for now, till the radiato...

Update: 11th May, 2016. My external oil cooler pipes turned up this arvo. They are PTFE, encased in stainless steel braid. I did consider rubber reinforced hose, pushed onto barbed ends, and secured with worm clips. With rubber though, there is the risk of the hoses softening with heat, or the hose...

Oil filter was delivered this morning. I ordered one for a C5 S6... ...it doesn't fit. My oil filter housing is off a C5 RS6, with a sandwich plate for an external oil cooler. The C5 RS6 threaded tube is smaller than that of the C5 S6 filter. Luckily, Audi have an RS6 one on the shelf, and are doing...

Well not 100% sure on the 2.7 part then it's what I was told I think the code is DQS but true it had an empty speed sensor on the diff looks like one but was hollow. I swapped it for one off another box I had and it works luckily :D a problem I have found is my ecu for my engine doesn't have a vss ...

I just realised...are you sure that gearbox is out of a 2.7 TDI A6? That would be a C6, and I am sure the gearbox changed in the C6. I might be wrong though... ...and another thing. Lots of later cars lost the speed sender on the transmission, so the VSS signal was via the ABS module. Just thinking ...

With the engine all running, without a single DTC, it is time to fit the cooling fans. With my previous V8 swap, I ran a couple of slimline 14" pushers, 80W each. One had a manual override, which meant I could control the fan at will. The engine never overheated, but this time, I'm playing it safe. ...

With the imminent installation of an S8 32V motor into my B5 A4 2.5 TDI Quattro, I will be making some changes to the engine. I rattle-canned the timing belt and valve covers, as well as the intake manifold. It look3d good at the time, 4 years ago. But looking at the 40V BFM motor in my Pelican Blue...

Up on axle stands, just after I bled the power steering. I'll have a shot at replacing the alternator voltage regulator while it's in this position. http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/xx329/NaijaGuy/S8-Powered%20Audi%20A4%20Touring%20Car/image_zpshulbfuza.jpeg http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/xx32...
