excellent,i made my own headers,limefire type was really loud but i've baffled them now,they sound good on tickover and quiet enough when driving...just!!

i cleaned the gearbox off earlier and went for a drive,all seems to be working ok at the moment,maybe its when it gets really hot and i kickdown it takes quite a while to change back up..dunno!! and now its clean i've found the worst of the leak is from the pan,i've tweaked the bolts up and its allm...

right then,when i first had problems with this box i remember hearing a loud crack nois but couldnt find anything..well now i have!! around the casing by where the rear servo is theres a hairline crack,must have been caused by the rear servo i guess so im going to try some of that metal filler to ge...

here's a picc of my money pit,daimler hemi v8 and a f**king piece of s**t borg warner slush box. originally built with a alfa twincam motor in it but i got embaressed driving it so i shopped round for a v8 to stick in it,the only motor i could find short enough was the daimler,it came in around 5" ...

Way cool hot rod ;) the daimler goes way back in drag racing ... http://www.ukdrn.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=87 very interesting reading,its a loverly looking motor and when mine was running good it pulled like a train and screamed like a banshee..its missing a bit now but will be sorted this week...

It's some time since I overhauled a 35 - at least 30 years - but I managed with no special tools. I have absolutely no idea how you could possibly have managed to refit the pistons to the clutch drums with new seals on the pistons without damaging them, other than by using the proper installers. do...

ok thanks harvey,i was quoted around £400 for a rebuild from a local auto trans shop hopefully ill be able to do it for a lot less,the only thing im concerned about is wether i can set up the cable correctly.

firstly thanks for all the advice,its looking like im going to be spending loads more money on fluid and at £20 for 5 litres its not going be cheap... are parts still available for these box's like clutch plates bands etc,i may have a go at doing one of my other box's so its ready to swap over the w...
