I've got an old engine sitting in my garage and I was going to do a V8 table too. I noticed it is the high compression.... 10.5?? or something, is it a "rare" engine or worth something more than stripping/scrapping? Hi it is a P5 /P6 block, an early version of the 3.5 worth it to someone restoring ...

Hi as a chevy fan I can recommend, A small block chevy  , bore it +30" put in a neutral ballance 3.875" cast iron crank in it with hyperutetic pistons with a small dish in them, aim for 10:1 compression, and I beam rods, should give you 396 ci roughly 6.5 litres, get it as a kit from the sta...

Stick a bigger Rover V8 in there !! Thats as simple as it can be :) You might as well go for a 4.6 block and heads as the base unit as all your other bits will drop straight back on. The Eddy 500 carb will be fine with the 4.6 litre engine. I seem to remember that a 4.6 running 100% VE at 5800 rpm ...

Toyota Hilux RV8
Hi...back again. After succesfully doing the RV8 swop into my Hilux Mk3 and enjoying the burbling exhausts I was just looking at a few other options for my truck. 1st ideas was to possibly remove the RV8 and stick in a Lexus 1uz-fe....all very nice and returns it back to Toyota again but I am also t...

Looking very good. Chris. Cheers Chris. I'm pleased so far with how it's turned out, still a few more bits to play around with but she's nearly there. It runs a lot smoother and pulls clean from 15mph in 3rd so i'm chuffed with the driveability of the truck. All in all it's turned out well and even...

I have a 13 row engine oil cooler fitted to my 4.6, and find it excellent. Mind you, I live in Australia where the temperatures are in most of the country for most of the time hotter than those experienced in Europe and the U.K. It is 23 degrees C here today and I have just been out for a run over ...

Hi Again I've just looked at your build photos, the exhausts are miles away from the sump, the sump is dangling in the breaze under the car right in the air flow, and you have lagged the pipes anyway, plus the engine bay is huge , you may have an issue with the oil not getting properly hot, not nee...

Oil Cooler kit.?
I'd like to fit an oil cooler kit to help keep temps under control. I've got my eye on this one, any advice regarding what one to get? They have various sizes available, is bigger better? Going on standard 3.5, no real mods, basic motor into Toyota Hilux. Link. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...

Snag with the early EFI systems is they can't practically be re-mapped for a modified engine. Also, the flapper is a precision built bit of gear which needs to be on spec to do its job. As does the ECU. Both can give problems with age. Injectors too. But then a carb wears out too. And can be diffic...
