A nice diagram showing the stock R8 exhaust setup versus mine, practically identical pipe lengths from engine to silencer, loving what's going on inside that silencer too, should sound exactly like an R8. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/paddy1970/Woodsport%205/R8070087_medium.jpg Actually aft...

Today saw some good progress made on the new exhaust system, just to recap, i'm fitting an R8 rear silencer to get this thing sounding more like it should, the old TVR system was just deafening. I made a mounting bracket for the R8 box and bolted that to the gearbox, the system moves with the engine...

Today saw the old TVR exhaust system removed (just too loud!) and the start of fitment of the Audi R8 system starting with removing the upright supports to my crossbrace (yellow), these were right in the path of the new manifold to silencer pipes. I will redo these to miss the exhaust pipes and repa...

Thanks for the feedback chaps, the engine conversion itself is totally finished right now apart from more mapping time, it runs stinky rich right now on some rough base maps. I'm in the middle of doing the bodywork which is taking a long time to do, i haven't included any of the body stuff in this v...

Mk1 Mr2 V8 project
I thought i'd share my build thread on V8 forum, seems to be some pretty knowledgeable folks here, anyway here is my project. This is my own personal project, not a customers car, so i wanted to do something wild and different, at Woodsport we build the now commonplace mk1 V6's and mk1 turbos so i w...

Why would you want to use anything else? The Audi box is cheap, it fits the Audi V8, there's a bellhousing adapter available for the Bmw V12, it's 6 speed, strong, Quaife do an LSD for it, the output shafts are in the right place, an Mr2 turbo driveshaft bolts to it without mods, the list goes on......

You will spend £7k-£10k putting a V8 into a Mk2 Mr2 in parts alone, personally i'd go for the BMW V12 instead, it's more faithful to the Murcielago replica and will cost the same as going Audi V8. Both Audi V8 and Bmw V12 will have to be mated to the Audi TDI FWD 6 speed gearbox, the Audi will plug ...

Hi, i stumbled on this thread and indeed this forum via google and thought i'd sign up to give my 2p worth. First there's an unbelieveable amount of nonsense being typed here, i know i'm new here and this is my first post but i call a spade a spade.... a V8 in an Mr2 will not upset the handling, onl...
