Thanks for the advice. I am going to get a carb tune-up and have the guy also look at the automatic choke. I hope that will solve the problem.

I have a 1977 Olds Delta 88, with a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne 305 engine, and it idles really high. I know that this is normal when you start it up, but it never idles down.
