DVLA engine swap rules

Hi,Just sent off my log book with my new engine numbers and capacity change on my v8 capri,have been reading somewhere that I need a report from a garage for the engine conversion I have done or engineers report,is this a new rule,does anyone know? cheers dave

I believe its also a high nickel block,same has the one Im running in my capri,I also have camel hump heads,took it out for the first time last week pulls like a train,280 magnum cam works great with those heads!

Hi,finally took my chevy v8 powered capri out for a spin,according to the co tester it running about 8%,anyone know a good jet size to start with,its a 600 holley 1850s vacuum sec,second hand carb,so need a good base size to start from?

Hi,thanks for all the infomation,at least its not just mine,I did read somewhere not to use the rubber gaskets at the front and back of valley,and just to use silicon,apparently they tend to move!!

Hi,have checked rocker cover gaskets pretty sure they are not leaking,I think its coming up through the intake bolts???

chevy v8 intake

Hi,
Rebuilt my small block chevy recently,took the car out for its first drive,noticed oil formation on top of intake manifold,do the intake bolts have to installed with sealer on them,or could it be another problem,

Chevy v8s go in nice,sump on the back just misses power rack,t5 gearbox,even standard propshaft goes into gearbox.

Cheers Mike, Regarding cam break in,I know I did not do this properly,problems starting the engine,Then big overheating problems,timing problems, etc etc,it never ran for more than five minutes each time i started it. It runs nice now with no issues other than leaking valve seals(my fault!) How long...

Thanks Mike,going to stick to these heads and cam for this year,They are suppose to be good for about 330bhp,will have to settle for that at the moment!!

Nice to know its not all rovers on here,taking it down the road for the first time this weekend,Ive used about 10 gallons of fuel firing it up and adjusting timing and mixture,and done about 6 feet in it so far!!!
Just need to do the valve seals properly this time!

When I built my chevy v8 I installed the o-ring type of seal down the valve stem,I know now that was incorrect,do you think this is causing the blue smoke out of my tailpipes?
