It looks like someone has removed the holley baseplate and rotated so the throttle linkage is on the left hand side as you look at it in the engine bay,will the carb run ok ? The large vacuum port is now at the front of the carb!

Holley 650 double pumper

Hi, Just purchased a holley 650 dp,the throttle linkage is on the wrong side for my application,can the baseplate be rotated? cheers dave

Hi mate,thanks for that! I rebuilt engine new pistons,rings,etc etc,passed the heads on to machine shop,they said they did the worst guides?? The plugs colour look perfect except number 1 cylinder which keeps getting a bit oily,just saving for alloy heads, just hoping I havent got broken oil ring on...

Hi mate,Im running a pcv in valve cover to base of holley,a vent in the other valve cover, one pipe to the servo from intake manifold and the other one on front of carb blanked off as im running mechanical advance distributor,if that makes sense,thanks Dave

Hi,Im getting 175 psi across the cylinders give or take 5 psi,just replaced valve seals,but still using oil,got no leaks but can see blue smoke out of exhaust,how else can oil get into cylinders? cheers dave (no blocked breathers or pipes!)

Hi,yes I was asking what psi I should be looking at,im using a fair bit of oil,my valve guides are not that good,I have done about 400 miles since I rebuilt engine just worried that the rings have not seated or I have done something wrong,fitted new valve seals,cant think where else I can be using o...

Hi,what sort of compression readings should I expect from a fresh built chevy 350,will the hi-lift cam affect these,I think I may have a slight air leak on the intake manifold,will this affect the reading?,cheers Dave
