Nice logo Perry! When I had my Pro Rover BGT I had it on display at the NEC for the "MG World" exhibition and it was actually well received by the MG crowd. I did enjoy firing it up to drive out at the end.............

Re: 3.5 vs 5.0

Take note from the horses mouth, the engine on the cradle is the 3.5 which powered Tim into the 8.5's and never broke. The second bigger picture of the engine in the car is the 5.0 wildcat which never saw better than a 7.7 and breaking something at every meeting. Tim gave up on the Wildcat after tw...

I had stopped racing before Tim raced his Rover engine so I am fascinated to know more about those two engines - and to have one at SCR will be fantastic.

How about a Rover engined GT40 Replica based on the body from 1967? Ian I love to see GT 40's! and they certainly make the date "cut-off"....but it may not be in the display area - which will be for the Ex RV8 challenge cars. We will have the ex "Tim Garlick" car and motor on show -which were built...

Phil, you recon you may be able to arrange for some of the forum RV8 powered cars to attend and display??? Hi Coop I'm sure there will be space for RV8 cars to both show and go! but it may be that the NSRA (who are the organisers) would want early bodied ( pre 1975ish cars....) to actually go out o...

Well we have had a good response from SCR and it is looking to be a good "Get together" I will be collating a list of likely attendees and cars so watch this space. And I believe that SCR had to spend a lot of money on that Sound Barrier just to keep racing going there - the local council have not b...

Rover Racers Reunion will be held on June 25/6th as part of the "Nostalgia Nationals" at SCR. We will have some space for a display in the marquee so it would be great to have a big turnout for this iconic V8 engined race series reunion. - Please - Spread the word.

Rover Racers Reunion

2011 will be the 25th Anniversary of the start of the Rover V8 Championship. This will be an ideal opportunity for a "Get Together" of as many as possible of the Ex Racers, pit crew and supporters of this highly regarded and warmly remembered race series. A meet at one of the "Nostalgia" events, eit...

Finally got all the RV8 times (bar some in 92/93) and Eddie Beale's fastest was 13.60/103. Murray was as before ( but his motor was put in the Rover 214 of Kev Jenkins for one meeting and it ran a low 10!). There was one other SD1 which raced in 1996 - one round, driven by C Holt - 15.99 seconds

Hi again
I'm still digging to find RV8 SD1 times and Murray Kinnaird ran 11.95/110 in 1994 at Santa Pod in the final round of the Championship.. There was, by that time, an 11.00 breakout rule in Street Rover. I am still looking for Eddie Beales fastest times.

Years ago I visited "Rovertec" in Fleckney and Ray (Who is now V8 Developments I believe) showed me some X heads and he said that they were better for tuning -( as there were thicker port walls for more grinding to give better flow?)
