I have a 3.9 RV8 that had a zf autobox and im gathering parts to replace this with a Toyota W58. Ive now bought two manual flywheels of the b of a and they both turn out to be 4x4 items despite being advertised as sd1. They are too big and Dellow tell me they will foul the bellhousing they supply. W...

As a bit of a side question, when I took the sump off my 3.9 today found it had been (badly) sealed with black mastic stuff... Now I reckon this is from a previous owner as it was badly fitted, thick round the corners and little on the straights and was wondering if it was standard for steel sumps?

Just thought they would be better than standard ones, ie: not pumping up and holding the valves open. That means less pushing on the cam lobes and less wear??

Yep, I picked it up standard and am junking the rover ecu as I need to get the ignition and injectors timed up.

So, with all the new bits I'll be mapping it up.

cheers,
Steve

Thanks, I'm thinking of the Crower 50230. Rhoads bleed off lifters, Coyles true roller timing set. Motor is a 3.9 efi with hedman headers, custom open silencers. Dizzy not used, changed to Ford coil pack ignition with trigger wheel an MS2 ecu and Edis8. 9.35/1 comp with standard crank, pistons and h...

PRC7020 for a Holley?

Will a prc7020 su type fuel pump be ok for a Holley 4 barrel?

I'm taking the injection off for the Holley and need to change the injection pump to one for carbs. I'm hoping the pump from the prc7020 will fit inside the fiesta in tank arrangement I've got.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Phil, at the moment I'm not sure whether to use the carbs or run the MS2 I got off you a while ago for my ST170 kit car.

I will be using the MS to run the ignition but really like the idea (and cheapness) of the carbs.

What about a Ford 302 5L V8? £2800 new or very cheap second hand with upwards of 300bhp easy to get.

Thanks, just realised that, found some parts on ebay but a bit expensive.

I'm thinking of adapting the upper inlet to take the carbs.

Once I've decided which way to go I'll post some pics.
