Hi thanks for your reply but both carbs were fully closed. the engine is in the open so easily checked.

Hi went out on my trike and all going well nice tickover and pulling away got home reversed it up the drive . all ticking over nice but when I took it out of drive the engine revved up to about 2000 rpm then after about 30 secs it ticked over as normal. the engine is in the open and the throttle was...

My guess would be a faulty gauge? Have you tried bleeding any air from the sender area? What was the pressure before please? I have seen home modified pick up pipes that have curved on the base that meets the block gallery and oil was being picked up and then dumped at the top of the pipe before it even got to the pump. The curving was caused by welding /brazing the pipe to the mounti...

oil pressure

Hi 3.5 ltr. removed sump removed oil pickup and thoroughly cleaned refitted new gasket and refitted the sump. put in new engine oil 20/50 new oil filter and run engine . the pressure went to 30 lb .( this has a mechanical oil gauge) drops to 20 lb after a few mins then down to 5 lb even when revved....

I have no idea what you mean by flashing between 8 and 9 oclock - If using a good light then you should see exactly what the timing is at any rpm. Is that a typo or do you mean No 7 as that makes no sense at all if the dizzy is in the right place and all the plug leads placed accordingly. I think y...

Whats the vacuum signal being picked up from? Are you checking the idle running with the vac disconnected? Andrew the vacuum is coming from the n/s carb and it is working. have disconnected the vac pipe reved to 2000 rpm timing light on no.1 plug. the tdc mark on pully flashes between 8 and 9oclock...

vacuum is from one of the carbs and have disconnected it . showing 30deg retarded at 2000rpm

As it's in a trike there could be some confusion about what cylinder you are calling no 1. No 1 is the cylinder nearest the distributor cap. Denis the no1 cylinder is marked on the inlet manifold and is 1st one on the right looking from the front. the chopper has just started to pas through the eye.
