check you have voltage at the injectors if not it could be the resistor pack, could also be some other wiring fault mind you. The injectors are permanently fed and its the ground that is switched. Also check all the connectors are good as they have a habit of failing.

There would have been a data sheet that came with the cam, this sheet has the proper timing in it. Sock timing will be safe but probably not the best it can be. That said unless your willing to invest in some tools/vernier sprocket and a bit of time your probably best leaving it as is. There will be...

Notches are in the very top/middle of the inlet ports of the heads right at the gasket face. They look like they have been cut with a smallish round file which funny enough is what you would use to make them. Hotwire is the way the system uses to measure the amount of air going into the engine. Defi...

No I know exactly what you mean and its a good idea. It wasn't possible to do it this way on the conversion I did as it had a winged sump which covered where the cable would have had to go. It was for a Sierra and there was so much had to be cut out the front of the sump that a winged sump was the o...

I have always just used normal paint on the inlet and its always worked fine. The inlet doesn't get that hot in paint terms. Etch primer is ok but I have never bothered with that either but if you want to then Upol do a good etch primer.

Which Ashcroft are you on about?

By the way your prices are a little off RPI is for 4.0, DJE doesn't state but its probably for the 4.0 as well (tho I could be wrong) plus he want an exchange. Add that lot together and your NEARLY twice the price.

Yes its the same carb.

Nothing wrong with going the carb route at all but most of the guys with the kind of money that is in a 4.8 engine would opt for EFI.

Wouldn't it just be a whole lot easier to just weld in a swirl pot into the original tank? That's all I did with mine all it took was a morning which included going to scrap yard to get an old Sierra tank to cut the pot out of. Only one pump and less space used and is now the same as just about ever...

yes the block itself is bored larger which is why it could be a risk if the block itself is a little thinner than it should be.
