I have read through this thread with interest as i am doing a V8 conversion allbeit on a FWD Cougar :lol: I am not sure what your budget is for the total build but to give you a little idea I have spent £6,000 plus so far on my car and i still have the engine,gearbox and driveshafts to get aswell as...

Ford MTX75 gearbox is good for upto 300ftlbs torque and they are cheap.

I don't want to sell the Cougar lol just feel it should have been given a V8 engine by Ford as they do with the Mustang after all the Cougar was Mercury's pony car Looking at getting a rover sd1 v8 engine to fit

The hardpart is finding an engine that will fit transversley in my engine bay and still provide me with over 350hp and 300Lbs torque, any ideas would be greatly appreciated cause all i can find at the moment that is guarenteed to fit is the Taurus V8SHO but that is only rated to 290 bhp

If your going to be shipping another container later in the year I would be interested in loading an engine into it
