Re: Manny's TR7 V8
Very nice and like the interior. The TR8s were by far the best version of the TR7 and a shame they were pulled too early. I'm doing a body-off retsore of a TR6 at the moment. Body going to a bodywork shop for the welding tasks in July and I'm just about to start on the chassis / running gear / engin...

Re: Anyone got one of these?
I suspect Sealey blasters are same as my Clarke https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/sb3-gritblast-gun/.
I use Clarke oxide blasting grit which is very fine stuff and I keep it bone dry.
Will make that bottle gun in a week or two and will post my results.

Re: Anyone got one of these?
Update .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6L_ArXCbYs&feature=youtu.be So I am making one. £3.99 for the gun and tube set is worth a try. I made my own blasting cabinet and use proper grit and recycle it. Baking soda does make a real mess and is used for outside work. There are several bad reports...

Re: Anyone got one of these?
I do use blasting medium - Clarke's stuff - so perhaps it will be OK. The Clarke gun I have is so simple that I do not know why it blocks - medium is always dry. 50% of the time I just get air out and no grit. When I do get grit, it works fine. I've no idea why grit turns on / off as all the air doe...

Anyone got one of these?
https://www.banggood.com/Pneumatic-Sandblaster-Sand-Blaster-G-un-Sand-Blasting-Sprayer-Sand-Blasting-Equipment-p-1586185.html?cur_warehouse=CN I have a Clarke gun that is very much like a spray gun but it seems to get blocked even though it is a very simple mechanism. So I wondered if this was any g...

Re: Engine Oils. which ones???
As everyone says, everyone has their own opinion so ... as I had 4+ litres of Mobile 1 left and I need 7 Iitres bought another lot of 0/40 fully synthetic to mix with it and use for this coming year. From several suppliers, 0/40 fully synthetic is the recommended oil listed for my TVR Griffths engin...

Re: Engine Oils. which ones???
So a crank driven oil pump seems to drain down much like the dizzy driven one? Yes. If I remove spark plugs and crank I do not seem to get pressure up so I simply start engine and pressure does come up pretty quickly but there is still that few seconds, but always seems a long time, when one waits ...

Re: Engine Oils. which ones???
Well I thought it worth asking again! Have just browsed the internet including oil suppliers and just about every combination of 20/50w to semi to fully synthetic oil is recommended. My 1997 TVR Griffiths 500 engine had a factory sticker saying to use Mobile 1 but that is now a fully synthetic oil b...

I have a powerlite starter too and it is great. I had a querey so contacted the company and had a very detailed response from the boss. Why not just contact them?

Re: Megasquirt Settings
I would asy no. I spent weeks trying to get my MS2 unit correctly programmed and I too just wanted a basic map / setting to get the engine started. My supplier was totally useless and would not help at all saying it was up to me what I wanted. Eventually I got help via the MS forum from a great blok...

They are so easy to do yourself with compression connectors. I have made up many.

Re: Drill Bit Sharpener
The same question was asked here, I've always done mine by hand with some degree of success https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/suggest-a-drill-sharpening-system.90499/ So it seems the Drill Doctor 750X is the one to get albeit very expensive. At about £20 per set of new bits, it is still w...

Re: Drill Bit Sharpener
I afraid that is the one I find useless as well as a plastic housing and a cam mechanism one.
Agree with Dave too.

Drill Bit Sharpener
As title. Any recomendations? I've got a hand held one and a cam type that fits a drill for power and both, quite framkly useless. The big ones all seem equal to the cam type ones I have albeit in one unit so not sure how good they really are. Drill Doctor 750X seems a good one but at the end of the...

Re: classicfuelinjection.co.uk Rover V8
It does indeed look interesting but it does seem a little expensive vs how much performance and / or efficiency you may get out of it. Why not go with a Lucas Hotwire system that I am sure you can get easily - may not be easy to fit it, though, in yu car. As I have a MegaSquirt EFI system it does se...
