A much lighter alternative is the Ford C4 which can be used with a simple adapter ring to mate a BW35 bell housing to the front pump then torque converter spacers to get proper engagement. Alan bigaldart!!! So, you adapted a C4 to a Rover V8 with a Borg Warner 35 bell housing? Have you any pictures...

Wider tires will transmit more stress to the rest of the drive train. Every step of the way to more power will also need steps towards more reliability.
