Rover V8 starter motors
Hi all, I have a couple of spare starter motors and wondered which was the most powerful in terms of rated Kw. One is a lucas 25701A possibly SD1 or RR classic. The other is a Bosch 0 001 110 120 which I suspect is for a P38 4.0/4.6 While on the subject does anyone know which is the most powerful of...

Re: MOST FOUL RESISTANT PLUGS
Full 12v as it is supplied by a dedicated relay, have checked connections, the test rig won't give a spark till the residue is wire brushed off. The problem is after the car has been left for a month or two,no problem at all if used regular,if the mixture was wrong I would have this problem all the ti...

MOST FOUL RESISTANT PLUGS
Hi all, I am having problems with plug fouling on a RV8. It seems only to be a problem if the car is not used for a couple of months, normally no problem at all. Have tried NGK bp6es and they were fine in Sept when car last used, this is the 2nd set as the first were fouled up in March after leaving...

ROVER V8 14CUX ECU TESTING.
Does anyone know if I can test a 14cux ecu by plugging it in without the eprom fitted as I do not have one?
Asking as I have been told the eprom only controls the fueling and the ecu should still run the fuel pump for a few seconds as normal but the car will not start.
Any info welcomed.
Thanks,PJ.

A lot of the lifters used now are nasty things,I rebuilt my engine 2 years ago and within a 1000 miles I had that ticking appear at idle. Checked push rods then had to take inlet off and check lifters and cam,one lifter had collapsed due to the check valve falling apart.I would have exchanged it but...

I had the same problem as you. After a hard run one day the noise refused to go away and I assumed a lifter had failed. On taking the inlet manifold off I found ONE bent push rod.I stripped its lifter down (std)and found that the little spring inside had collapsed, this on an engine with just over a ...

ROVER V8 INJECTOR LENGTH
Does anyone know the length of the rover v8 fuel injector as fitted to the hotwire system?
It has a green band on it.
I believe it is made by Lucas\Sagem.
Thanks.

MANIFOLD VACUUM AT IDLE.
Hi all,i`ve just fitted a 14 cux hot wire based injection system to my 3.5 low compression Rover v8 and find that the vacuum at idle is around 10" mercury at around 800 RPM. The cam is standard (I think) I would have thought that idle vacuum should be around 20" of mercury. Has anyone got a vacuum g...

I loved the little 1600 supercharged dutton I built and when I thought I `d got used to the power took it out in the rain for a laugh,I nearly poop myself a good few times and realised that i`m not the ace driver I had thought I was. The TR with the v8 and 3.9 diff is just the same but the noise of ...

Doubt I will be getting the m112 anywhere near 14000@ a 2:1 ratio. I think 6000 engine rpm is the very most I will get and then not for too long if I want to keep it in one piece. If engine does blow and performance was good it won`t be a lost cause as I don`t mind spending some money on a set up th...
