Problem is that the gears were removed, I know from experience that vauxhall pumps had a similar arrow on the inner and a dot stamped on the outer for alignment purposes but there is no sign of any on the outer ring, my inner ring has three different key positions aswell. I'm putting a short serpentine front end on my 5.0 and I was just checking the state of the oil pump. Removed the pump cover, everything ok but noticed an arrow on the inner gear, like a timing mark to me. Can't find a timing mark on the outer gear. Does this type of pump need to be timed when refit...
