Sure that was always the intention, i just meant that for £1250 turners supply you with a replacement block, that has had the liner repair done, rather than performing the repair on the existing block. Looking again though, i see its "service exchange" so in effect its the same, as you'd n...

Turner charge 1250, but that appears to be a whole new block, rather than just relinering an existing block.

Cheers for the links. At least i can start looking for Range Rovers now with an idea of what these repairs will cost!

Excellent that all makes good sense. I notice that v8developments charge £850 for the job, including a new cam and things. Is that the "going rate"? Anyone know how much the liners themselves are? Be interesting to find out how much cheaper it would be if i had the work done locally by an ...

Cracked Blocks

I'm looking for some info on the common cracked block issue and the remedies for it. I've done some reading and it seems the issue is caused by "shift" in the waterjacket at casting time, causing one or more of the walls to become thin. The block eventually cracks (sometimes helped along b...

T34's and T28's are way OTT for your power targets. You've said you want 400hp. T34's will manage anything from 340-380 depending on the spec T28 will manage around 290-310 Running either of those on an engine producing 200hp per turbo isnt going to be particularly nice to drive, with a very high bo...

as far as i was aware the COP or wasted spark direct drive coil options are the recommended route according to the MSnE people? The EDIS setup, while common on an RV8, isnt used on many other conversions, especially ones which use the bosch 60-2 timing wheel as standard, and most of these cars will ...

Hes planning on fitting four of them That means each turbo is being fed by two cylinders, meaning a horrible pulsed output of less than 1000cc is being fed into each blower. Two T25's would work perfectly, which is what i said in my post. Four however, will not. For more that 400, i'd go with a T28 ...

A T25 is imo far too large, and you'll just end up with a horrible laggy engine. A pair of T25's will be good for 400hp and should spool up acceptably well from ~1.9L Trying to spool a T25 or even a T2 from 1L just isnt going to work. The smallest engine i can think of having seen a T2 on is the Met...

There are guys on the landrover forum i use (LR4x4) who've converted their motors to megasquirt EFI explicitly to make it waterproof, and had the entire engine submerged running squirted EFI just fine. Infact the only problem i recall they had was the 'squirt jumping back into "warm up enrichme...

The only box i'm aware of with that layout, is the one Audi use in the R8.

Its a transaxle, with the driveshafts for the rear wheels coming off the sides of the box, then a prop running forwards past the engine to the front end.

Aint gonna be a cheap option though!

Carbs belong back in the dark ages. Its completely nonsensical to install an ECU to run the coilpacks and not use it to also run EFI. Better starting, better drivability, better torque and power spread, better fuel economy, etc etc etc. Do the job properly the first time round and you'll have a much...
