I have an RV8 lump (which i'm probably going to get rid of now anyway in favour of a lexus lump) There's a guy over on Pistonheads selling the engine and drivetrain from a 4x4 Lexus Soarer: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=456220 If the 1UZ is what you're after, this set up co...

This is a bit odd as I took a Holley 390 off my Offy 360° and dropped an Edelbrock 500 straight onto the same studs.

I got mine (in 304) from JP in Macclesfield.
If I remember right they were something like £6 each.

Arrgghh!! You evil barstewards! The timing of this is both perfect, and imperfect all at the same time. Perfect in the sense that I'm rebuilding my car from the ground up, and now is the time to make provision for a dreamy creamy LS. Imperfect in that I've already bought some extra bits for the exis...

The R380 or LT77 would be the cheaper and easier options. But if you want tall gearing, the T5 may be better. I think the LT77 has a 5th of something like 0.8, but my T5 (from a Mustang) has a 5th of 0.68, which with my 3.09 diff, and 205/55R15 tyres equates to about 33mph/1000rpm. Newer T5's have a...

Personally I like the rocker covers!
They certainly look better than some I've seen.

Does anyone know the reason for the filled in corner on the inlet ports?

Also, it's been mentioned that the exhaust ports are slightly raised.
How much is 'slightly'?

I got a John Eales bellhousing to attach my T5 to a RV8.
Nice bit of kit, and pretty good pricewise as it includes a concentric clutch slave cylinder.
Have a look:

Apparently the heads, presumably assembled, are around the £1k mark.
That was from quite a few months ago though, so things may have changed.
Best bet would be to call the boys at RS.

Could there be a partial blockage somewhere?
Have you checked the filter(s)?

Real Steel Merlin F85 Heads

There are some new pics in their catalogue if you fancy a gander.
They're at the bottom of page 6 in the RV8 section.

RV8 Engine Mounts

Does anyone know of the options available?
I have what I presume is the stock items (about 3" dia, 2" thick with studs out either side) but they're a bit on the soft side.
I'm not after something verging on a solid mount, but I want the engine restrained a little more.

Cheers,

Chris.

Is there a difference between JE Engineering and John Eales?
I know John Eales makes a dry sump for the BMW V8's used in the Morgan Aero 8.
Give him a ring on 01455 202 909.
