I don't really sell new std stuff.

I have got a complete set of used Sport brakes in which have larger discs AND larger front calipers.

£345

Its what I run on my 210bhp 5.

Probably a bit late...

But you can upgrade further to Mk2.5 Sport brakes or further still to Hi Spec or Goodwin kits.

I regularly sell MX5 parts and upgrades so if you need anything send me a PM.

Oh and Yellow Stuffs are the pad of choice at the minute.

Yes it comes with all the ancills

I read somewhere that they used non cross bolted blocks.

Smaller cranks

O ringed and Ported heads (maybe only the 4.3's)

Lightweight flywheels

Diffferent ECU timing / fueling

But I can't seem to find any real info.

2000 TVR 4.0 Chimaera Engine - What Spec Are They ?

I have been offered a 4.0 2000 Chimaera engine with 48k out of a write off for £1000.

I know the TVR power claims are dubious but I'm finding it hard to find any info on what exactly is in them.

Anyone know ?

Even the late ones seem to have dizzy's for example.

Thanks

I read 'How To Power Tune Rover V8's" a few months ago and must admit that after reading it I was left with the impression that all production R V8's were terribly unreliable. Yet when you look there are thousands around that have done 100K plus with ease. Most of it reads as an ad for the various t...

Is it easy to swap to a Hotwire type intake though, I was told it wasn't. Torque is for tractors, bhp for sportsbikes, I'm building a Sportscar so I want enough of both. From what I've seen of Adams's prices I wouldn't be willing to pay to keep the std inj. so has anyone played with aftermark...

Thor Engine - Pros and Cons

I have been offered a rebuilt and balanced 4.0 Thor engine - the owner had it all done and then crashed the car (I know the engine builder). I'm looking to install it in a sportscar. I believe this engine gives excellent torque but is it at the expense of bhp (although I'm only looking for 240ish) I...

Having mapped a few cars now really all it takes is a wideband O2 sensor, a cheap laptop a road and some time. You are then getting a completely customised set up and if you cchange anything you can remap it. I was intending this to be a lower tech approach but seeing the costs of carbs etc it seems...

I know, which isn't the impression you get from books / specialists.

I know that too...

I've already read your threads and studied your diff location pics.

An MX5 its currently running around 210bhp with a supercharged 1.8 so my target was around 240bhp and similar torque. But it has to be lightweight and the LS series seem to be a bit too much in demand and have more power than I want. I agree the Lexus is a good contender but I didn't want the hassle...

Engine Advice - Conflicts With Books - Any Experience ?

I am looking for the V8 for my sportscar. I have read loads of sites and the latest Des Hammill book. After reading I am left with the impression that anything other than a 3.5 or a tophat lined engine will be a disaster. However I work with a couple of guys who have worked on Land / Range Rovers fo...

Some manufacturers realiose this and have reduced parts and labour on some older cars.

In fact the Chip for my wife's Volvo was reduced as its over 5 yrs old.

Better to have a bit of something than all of nothing.
