My only concern for that test is that I have an LDV Convoy Ex ambulance with a RV8 and I'm guessing that with what I carry on board I reckon it must weigh in at about 2.5-3T. Now if I need to brake sharpish then will I brake in time? I might end up driving around for a good few miles before it happe...

Servo or Brake Master Cylinder BMC?
Hi guys, Recently had front binding brakes. Replaced front brake hoses and calipers but still the same. The vehicle binds intermittantly. I'm trying to work out if it's the Brake Master Cylinder or Servo. I also recently noticed that on a cold start up I get a hissing from inside the cab from the se...

There are ways - like feeding some rope in via the plug hole then turning the engine carefully by hand to compress it and hold the valve in place - but given how easy it is whip a head off, I'd not bother. Thanks all just to let you know I managed to replace the broken spring in situ. I used the ro...

Thanks to all for your help so far. This morning I removed the dizzy cap, cleaned it and sprayed it with a little WD40 and started her up, no change. I ran the engine for about 30 seconds to warm the manifold slightly and checked the manifolds by hand for heat difference. I could feel that No.7 was ...

Started it from cold just now in the dark, no arcing on the leads. Check the header tank just incase and no bubbling. The evaporator looks fine (in the summer when the fan belt snapped it looked like i'd just taken it out of deep freeze!), and temperatures here are not that cold. I don't have an inf...

I've got this little lump in my Ex Ambulance LDV Convoy. Over the last couple of weeks I n...

Hi Ya, I've got a LDV Convoy with a RV8 in it, running on a Edelbrock 1404 and LPG. I've just had the same problem with my floats. I've had the odd misfire over the last couple of weeks and then i couldn't get it started but it just kept flooding. I don't however recall running it in petrol after a ...

R380 gearbox, speedo drive gear (Green 21-teeth)
Hi ya, I am on the look out for a replacement speedo drive for my LDV V8 with a 5-Spd Manual gearbox, been told the gearbox is a R380 by the LDV main dealer (How can i check it's a R380 for defo please?). The drive gear in the end of the gear box is unfortunatley broken and LDV say it's an obselete ...
