Hi All, I'm new to the forum, and to V8s. I recent purchased a Land Rover Series III with a V8 conversion done by York Performance in 1991. The engine number seems a strange format though, YPE020293, anyone know where this might be from as it doesn't align with the rover v8 engine number formats? C...

I have a completely different setup (4 barrel TBI) but similar symptoms. It felt as if the engine vacuum was holding the throttle open. I put a second return spring on and it seemed to help.l

I just measured my dipstick as 52cm long, and the distance from the top of the tube to the bottom of the sump as 67cm. That's with what I think is a 3.9 RR sump.
