Re: Problems with new Rover 4.6 Engine
Have you tried a rolling road, at least you could get a power run to see what performance it actually has.

Re: Use a modern V8??
Why not go for a Chevy LS motor, plenty of tuning parts, people know lots about them, and more power than you can shake a stick at.
I suppose it's down to what you are doing with it.

The head type is written in the middle of the head under the rocker covers

Re: RV8 vernier instructions
That's quite a complex subject. I am assuming you have a decent dial gauge, a degree wheel, a pointer and the amount to dial it into?
if so, what are you doing? or why can you not get it right?

Re: LT77 gearbox
I would be grateful for advice please. I have a Scimitar SE 5A which has had a Rover V8 fitted and a 5 speed box. I assume the engine and box came from an SD1 and that the box is a LT77. The box spoils driving the car. It is very heavy and notchy to shift and second is always an issue. I would pref...

This may take a while to get going, but I do now have a start. I have always fancied a Ventora, I just love the coke bottle styling of these FDs but could never find one at the right price or condition. https://i.ibb.co/ZHs8hxX/Ventora.png I also rather like the Supernatural Impala, again coke bottl...

Re: Rough running 4.6l
Is there any way that you can measure your AFR?
Also, have you tried the primaries and needles from when you had the carb on the 3.9?

Re: Rocker shaft. Whats the max clearance?
Is there any benefit to having adjustable rockers if you are using hydraulic lifters? I would have thought it of no purpose if the pedestals have been shimmed anyway. They allow you to get the same pre-load on all cylinders, which depending on how far they are out, does make a positive difference. ...

Re: Rebores on the 4.6L?
When I had top hat liners fitted, I kept my old pistons and just fitted new rings. Both times. It worked fine. Chris. Hi Chris, no can do! My pin bores are shot on at least 2 pistons so will be getting new pistons. Question is: +20 rebore or replace all the liners. Replacing the liners seems to be ...

Re: Fuel Air Mixture Wide Band System
I could never quite get my Edelbrock 4 barrel to run right, so I bought a Stack wide band with a dial on the dashboard to see what was going on. It did help but I eventually gave up and fitted a Hotwire system instead. The Stack item has been on there for quite a few years now and has always perform...

You're going to have to post a lot more info about the engine and what you wish to use it for.

Re: Rover 14CUX: Alternative injectors, any improvements?
I toyed with the idea of going to a 4.6, even discussed it on here, but I do like the revvy 4.0. The engine is for a fairly lightweight car and I was looking for a bit more zip, and not so much the ability of dragging Billy Smarts Circus up Ben Nevis. Strangely when I had the red ones tested they ca...

Re: Rover 14CUX: Alternative injectors, any improvements?
I should have just installed them then checked any difference between them and the single hole ones, but that would be too simple :| I took the engine out and stripped it down, had the bottom end balance and top hat liners fitted, then fitted a V8D Stealth cam, and had V8D take my heads out to Warri...

Re: Rover 14CUX: Alternative injectors, any improvements?
I bought some Vauxhall ones from fleabay and had them rebuilt/serviced - the injector service chap said the spray pattern was much better than the single hole ones. They are the red GM90501588 ones and were used in Vauxhalls including Vectras for many years. I did look at some four hole Bosch ones b...
