My ex 4.6Efi made 280hp with stock 65mm plenum and 38mm trumpets.. Head has got 41.5mm inlet valve and 35.5mm throat.. Also it will run STD 3.9 ecu chip. Then i replace bigger trumpets, 45mm and it will run very lean, so have to fit programmable ecu.. In my mind you will need slightly bigger trumpet...

Eales has been measured his 5.3litre engine with TA head´s and it will give 460hp.. Ad he is still working for those head´s.. porting etc.. I understand he is running M256 camshaft, and dry sump etc.. He will advertise that those are worth approx 10% over STD fully worked rover head´s..

Valve throat.

Hi. Like to ask why there is a rule that valve throat size is usually 85-87% of valve diameter? Is that a reason, because all engine builder always do this? I make an converstation of our head porter, and he say that you wont get all valve area to use if use throat like 85%. He usually go for bigger...

Best one is the new one. But you have to measure height.. Because SD1 sump height is different than Range Rover. Best sump/pick up clearance is approx 8-10mm

I think they are quoted with zero lift.. Because if you calculate cam degrees, it is 264deg form up to 99MY. If it is from .050" lift i think cam is quoted approx ~228deg then, maybe less??
