Increase tyre size = worse traction?
Hi all, I have a traction issue when accelerating hard. So I've looked into fitting larger rear tyres. 255/45/17 to 275/40/17 using Toyo R888s. But Ive been told that this increase will throw out the camber of the car during acceleration and make traction worse. Does this make sense? The rear end is...

Hi I wasn't aware they were now recommending the VR input for hall systems. We did talk about it years ago, but decided that the VR input was the hardest bit to get right, so kept it using the opto isolator. Personally I dont build mine that way, I always use the opto input for anything hall related...

Jamie, it may work but its not wired correctly for an EDIS setup, so it will probably have the odd miss trigger and wont be reliable. Bascially youve wired it for a VR input, not a Hall inpput. The EDIS module gives out a 12V ground switching output, youve wired it for a VR input. The MS should be w...

Toni, just remember, when you do fit your new injectors, you will change the req_fuel setting appropriately, but the whole VE table will need re-tuning. In theory this shouldnt be the case, but it always is as injectors opening time characteristics change at different opening times, and the spray pa...

OK, more tests and nothing I can put my finger on. If I feed the return into a container they are the same, if I run one pump (other one off and outlet clamped) then the noise is the same, this is the same on both pumps. Only weird thing is that the fuel pressure with one on is 37-38PSI, (one or the...

Thanks for the replies! I will get the return pipe fed into a bucket and try again, that is something I wanted to try. I can adjust the pressure fine from 30 psi upwards, so I dont think Im restricting the flow from the pumps. I will also try it with one pump running and the other pumps outlet (the ...

Hi, the feed to the pumps is pretty short, maybe 12" in total. The pumps are mounted at the same height as the outlet pipe and theres plenty of fuel in the tank. The issue I have is that if either pump is run on its own its still noisy. So the only thing I can think of is that the returned fuel is u...

Noisy fuel pumps!
My twin pump system isn't working out very well at all. I fitted a new 044 pump in parallel with my original Vortec pump and one of them became increadably noisy after a few minutes. So I removed the Vortec and fitted another 044 (two 044's) in parallel, but these are both very noisy from the first ...

mmmm checking the fuel pressure may be interesting lol. currently running a bosch 044 pupmp, and -6 fuel hose, current injectors are 440cc bosch motorsport ones, what injectors have you now gone to Phil? Is your Duty Cycle hitting 95% at high RPM or is it the AccelEnrichment then, as if its AE its ...

Worth checking your fuel pressure as Steve says, as I noticed mine was dropping by 10psi when it was on the dyno, meaning my injectors were also hitting 95%. So I have added a second fuel pump / feed and bought bigger injectors! I also changed over to the Thor fuel rails too, as these are much fatte...

Ive done what you want to do years ago. It needs the inlet maniflod injector holes drilling out to 14mm, which means you have to take it off anyway. I wanted to keep the Cold Air Valve from the flapper whilst we were developing MS1 (no stepper or idle control back then). Im fairly certain fitting th...

If you have the budget get the biggest one you can get in the space available and fit as many radiators as you can possibly fit in any spare space thats left where air flows over it. I have 4 radiators on mine (one in each corner of the car) a Jag pump and some of that wetter water stuff and it just...
