Here are a couple of good articles: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0606phr_understanding_compression_ratio/ http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/94138_piston_head_clearance_guide/ Yes, reducing the quench or squish whichever term one wants to use becomes critical if there are loose ...

The only accurate option is to detemine what you currently have, i.e. which piston dish size, what is the distance from piston crown to block deck at TDC, chamber size and gasket volume. The quoted values for chamber may differ a lot. Even the factory CR values may not be what quoted. Plastic orange...

I have big 4-pot Brembos in front and VW/Seat single piston calibers in the rear. The master and servo are from Austin Metro. No problem whatsover. Have you rebuilt your master cylinder ? Have you bled it ? In any case fitting a pressure limiting valve, preferably adjustable one, is very much to rec...

They have same plug thread, only shorter reach. As for the springs, they limit the valve lift so if you intend to use a non std cam beware of coil bind. Another thing, the OD of the springs is different so if you use old heads and wish to update your springs it may be difficult to find an uprated op...

I doubt that MoT person would accept the engine size based on "honestly officer" One needs to supply documented proof, e.g. a record of stroke/bore measurement from a machine shop doing the work. Like I said, a bit silly since the increase in displacement is around 27 % instead of the 25 % all...

I used to have Herald uprights in my Morris Minor. I have 14" TR7 Minators from Rimmers, and first ran 260 mm BMW discs with Vectra calibers. I then updated the front with Chevette uprights and A-arms. The brakes were the updated to 280x24 mm Carlton discs and Porsche Boxster rear 4-pot caliber. The...

Actually no high revs. It´s all due to our silly legislation: we are allowed to increase the capacity of the engine by 25 % compared to the largest engine within the model range. This is a modification that is a simple MoT approval thing. More than +25 % means one has to get a permission from DoT wh...

Destroking
Since everyone wants a stroker I have certain interest in destroking a 3,5 litre engine. I would only have to get around 69,5 mm stroke with std bore. If I offset grind the rod journals, what is the absolute limit in terms of reliability and strength of the journal ? Any ideas ?
