Rover V8 cooling question.
Just checking the coolant water level on my Rover V8 and on removing the pressure cap I realised that there is no pressure release figure identified on it. Does the cap include a pressure release or should I add a separate one In the top hose? Car is not on the road yet but I have had it idling up t...

No, you can’t use those they are 230v.
Do a search on Demon Tweeks for Circuit breaker and you will see the correct 12v ones.

Rover v8 sumps.
I have a Rover 4.2 engine fitted in my Triumph Stag with an SD1 sump. I have never managed to get the sump to seal correctly, there has always been a drip from at least one of the bolts. The sump mating flange was checked for flatness before fitting and I used a thick gasket. Have seen, on EBay, tha...

Hotwire injection system.
My Rover v8 is fitted with the Hotwire injection system but with no cats. I have the electrical sockets on both sides of the engine for the Lambda sensors and plugs in each side of the exhaust system to fit them. Is there any advantage in fitting them? I realise I will have to change the tune resist...

Engine advice sought.
I have two Rover v8 complete engines, one a 4.2 reconditioned from Land Rover (zero miles) and a new 4.0 cross bolted engine (zero miles), both require work/investigation. I now only have one project car, Triumph Stag, so only require one engine, my question is which one should i concentrate on? The...

Re: 'Thor' stalls sometimes
Not sure about a Thor system, but if I had this problem on a Hotwire system I would check the road speed sensor.

Re: Rebuild of a RV8 4.6 instead of the 3.9
The water pump opposite direction on the serpentine engine is achieved by the routing of the drive belt, via an idler pulley, which also keeps tension on the drive belt. If you cannot fit a serpentine belt then I would look into using a longer v belt and route it around an idler pulley, similar to t...

Hi roverv8bay, Happy to help, if I can. If you send me a PM with your email address I will forward the wiring diagram to you, I don’t do Facebook. To PM me, look in my profile (jenand40) and click on “Send private message”. Are you interested in just the speed sensor circuit or the complete wiring d...

Re: Very noisy top end
Hi minorv8, just come across this topic whilst doing a search on a problem I have with my v8.
Have you resolved the problem and what was the cause, i think it’s always good to update the Forum as it might help others in the future.
Thanks.
