I have fitted an RPI ignition amplifier to my 1993 3.9 Range rover classic. No difference at all - why? because there was nothing wrong with the original distributor mounted ignition amplifier. The ignition amplifier circuit is not that sophisticated, it just needs to send a low voltage trigger to t...

This combination sounds like resistive leads with resistive plugs (The R in BPR6.. means its a resistive plug) so i would anticipate a weaker spark.

The rev counter fluctuating points to the coil - feed connection as the ECU ses the coil feed for the rev counter also. Black/white wire at the coil with a 6.8KOhm resistor located approx' 6" up the lead. From there it dissapears into the loom but you can always do a continutiy check at the ECU...

You could try these guys.

I have not bought plug terminations from them but have used them for all sorts of electrical parts and found the quality of parts fine and good service etc.

Have a look here for a breakdown on what the part No.s mean: http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkjpg.htm It is unclear though as to why some plugs have different part No.s written on them but seem to be the same type? I have a selection of B6RES, BP6RES and BP6RE NGK plugs with the part ...

Hmm - a logical diagnosis for an engine that stops running but i would suspect either a missing coil - feed connection (black with white trace) with 6.8KOhm resistor fitted in series or some other sensor input to the ECU. On hot-wire engines the fuel pump runs for a few seconds at ignition on and th...

HID lights don't usually draw more Watts than conventional bulbs - they run at higher voltages & less current equating to about the same - i run a Mercedes with HID as standard and they are only 35watts.

Insulation against arcing is more relevant than ability to handle large wattage.
