Having a son is a handy thing as I've found out as well.....it's worth the abuse they give and all of the 'old man' jokes for the work we can get them to do. 8-) My boy's just finished lapping the valves in on the new performance head for his Carlton. It was his first time so I had him do it the old...

Sold.....for £33,950!

I've got a few Snap-On tools and a top box and a friend of ours has the single largest tool box that Snap-On ever made but it all pales into insignificance compared to that hoard. 8)

The swirl pot isn't mounted on rubber mounts is it?

That would be good enough to lose the earth connection.

Also, as MGBV8 said, why do you want a temp sensor in a swirl pot as it won't give a true water temperature reading?

Another use for a Jag V12, a chappy I know wasn't happy to just have 8 cylinders in his trike. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h235/MGMagnette/General%20car%20pics/Paulstrike.jpg We also have a guy around our way who imported a Viper complete rolling chassis and then fitted his split scree...

yes I agree on all counts. There are probably some modified cars out there that are death traps but the most of them are carefully and lovingly put together. Most of the rules actually stop you making the car safer because of the way the points work. Big engine no problem but upgrade the brakes and...

Hmm, Jensen Interceptor......the only car I've ever wanted to own as a restoration project and not to modify. 8)

I'm not liking the wheels on the V10 one but the rest seems reasonable enough.

There was a bit of an early lunchbreak whilst the crew cleared the track. It was quite spectacular, the smoke screen at the top end where we were was so big that the only way we knew he crossed the line was when the time flashed up on the gantry. Nice work Perry, can't wait to see ...

As one poster said, yes its all about balance. And with all due respect to the poster "JC." i've seen posting on here, his quote of "Hard front and soft rear, thats the way to make an MGB handle" is totally wrong. For road use I agree that would be a nightmare but hard front/soft rear is how a lot ...

I've driven a race car on Bonneville salt flats with solid mounted axles and believe me it's as bumpy as hell and makes keeping the car in a straight line a job and a half with constant high speed corrections. A lot of these people who reckon their car handles like a go-kart usually mean they've got...
