hello all,
Having a major hard time with the AP concentric slave bearing I bought, as its needs a flat bearing, not the radius one that came with it.
I've been in contact with AP and the -22 bearing I need is like gold dust.
So do I cut my £300 losses and look for something better?
Like the tilton 6000?
http://tiltonracing.com/product/6000-se ... -bearings/
anyone using anything other than the AP concentric slave on the rover v8 with the t5 gearbox.
YouTube has some videos with different types that look like they could work on my application, but I don't know the makes......and I can google for weeks and never find anything.
Just trying to move my new build forward, and the clutch/bearing stops me from re-building the gearbox, as I wanted this sorted before sending it for refurb.
cheers
scott

according to the AP info about clutches.
You need a round faced bearing if your clutch cover fingers are flat.
you need a flat faced bearing if your clutch cover fingers are curved.
Luck would have it my cover fingers are curved, and the bearing is curved.....hmmm no one can tell me if it would work ok, and I don't want to risk it.
Trying to source a new AP flat bearing for my concentric slave is a headache.... and nearly impossible.
As I'm also fitting a new t5, though it would be good to upgrade the bearing too....
But if I change my cover, its another engine re-balance at £350.....not something I want to be spending more money on.....
Catch 22, between trying to use what I have, or cutting my loses and looking for something else.
regards
scott

yeh ive been in contact with AP, and they could make 2off bearings if they wanted.......
If I order one.....from who I said.....so they gave me a UK contact....
The supplier also says 1-2weeks, but wont get back to me about ordering one.
All I can do is pester them till I get an answer.....
Otherwise something find something else.......
All of AP stock went to Holland in 2014 apparently.....
