Which AFR kit to buy?
Finally getting round to thinking I need an AFR Gauge to set my Weber up properly.
Options seem a little confusing
Innovate or Zietronix ? Advantages?
If Innovate then LC1, LC2 or MTXL?
If Zietronix then I get I can do data logging to a laptop but serial port connection? Really? I don't think any of our laptops have one so a bit pointless
Do I really need to log data when all I really want to do is set the carb up and then just drive?

14 point 7 gets mentioned a lot on the Megasquirt forum as being good value. I've got TechEdge, so no experience of others.
A lot of car electronic stuff uses a serial port. You can buy a USB to serial adaptor. But do get one guaranteed to work with the device you buy, as they seem to vary a bit.

So either throttle position, or manifold pressure would do, as well as rpm of course.
This will give you a good picture of how it is running under various conditions, otherwise you'd just be trying to watch the gauge and remember etc.
So do you really need to log ? No...but it can be a huge help.
I do rather dislike Innovate stuff, they can be problematic. That said, when they work they are pretty good...they just dont seem to be that reliable. Of the ones mentioned, the MTXL probably is best. Quality of the parts in hand is usually very good though. Which makes the fact they eat sensors annoying, as they should be very good.
It also depends on the style of display you want, whether a square type, round gauge type etc, and of course budget
Zeitronix is decent, but more expensive than some of the others
AEM offer a few...some like them, some dont.
PLX, Daytona Sensors, FAST, NGK, Holley, Stack, 14Point7 to name a few others
But for logging, Innovate or Zeitroniz are probably going to be better options...although you'll pay extra for sensors etc to log them.
Or the Daytona can log a few items onboard, and I think the AEM Failsafe wideband can record stuff too, and it has an onboard map sensor.

I have twin lambda sensors with two gauges, I can log all my runs and also set safety shut downs on lean out or low fuel pressure or low oil pressure.
