71mm rover plenum

Post by Eliot »

for my third ever milling machine project - i thought i would aim high and try boring out a rover plenum. After creating a few jigs i got it on the machine and bored it out without any problems. I couldn't get a 71mm plate so i made one from flat sheet, then turned it on the lathe.

Came out really well - i'm very pleased with myself. I think my old dad would of been proud.

Few more pics on the rover manifold archive:

Just reading your page about RV8 inlet manifolds in general, I have some pics of EFi manifolds, including GEMS towards the bottom of this page:

Feel free to pinch them.

Chris.

Nice idea, when I fabricated my front entry plenum, I used a TB off a Vauxhall Senator/Monza, it was a ling time ago, but I think the bore was either 71 or72mm, plus it had the added advantage that it was a bolt on TB
