is water needed through the TB/Plenum

Post by Ralphh85 »

Range Rover Flapper EFi Engine, as standard water is routed through the throttle body, what is the purpose of this?

power? fuel economy? quick warm up?

basically wanting to know if its necessary, would be easier to do away with it for my purposes, enless its goign to have any negative effects.

I thought it was to prevent icing, (not the sort you find on cakes), but tbh not given it much thought, maybe someone will have experience! Would have thought bypassing it would keep the air slightly cooler which is good for a denser charge etc etc... but of course it must be there for a reason!

To prevent icing like TC says, but we don't have arctic conditions here in the UK so you don't need it!!!

They didn't fit them on the Griff 500 engines.
Remember to block the two screw holes leading into the plenum - otherwise it will run roughly - dont ask how i know that..
