Which water temperature sender unit?

Post by spartanv8 »

Hi

Which water temperature sender unit should I use for a Classic Smiths water temperatue gauge? I know I will need an adapter but what size?

I run a 3.5 from a P6 in a Spartan.

Thanks

Fil

I bought a couple of Smiths water temp gauges from Ebay to replace the Tim one as all my other gauges are Smiths, so no sender with them.
If it's got booby bits or tires it's going to be trouble!

Thanks for the replies.

I have 10 volts through a voltage reducer for the gauges but not 9 volts! How do you get 9 volts?

Yes it's similar to the one I've got.

I bought a Smiths sender from Europa Spares but the Smiths gauge only shows just over cold when up to normal temperature. Where as the Tims gauge, I want to replace with a Smiths one, shows normal temperature. Weird or what?

It was a faulty gauge, changed it for another one and it works fine now. Thanks for all your help.
