SU manifold on 3.9 serp engine

Post by paul c »

I want to fit my 3.9 serp engine to my 110 with the twin carb manifold and LPG setup it already has in the car. The heater /lpg vap pipes I believe will run from the back of the manifold to the bottom rad hose tee, but what about the pipe below the thermostst housing which used to go to the back of the water pump? Block it off or tee it to the bottom hose also?
Thanks.

I would keep the plumbing as-is. The serp front cover should have all the necessary ports, but one of them may be undrilled / plugged, which you'll have to remove.

Chris.

be nice if it was that simple. There are no other places for it to go, it is an interim cover, late 94 disco, nothing to drill or unplug that I can see.

thinking about it, I think it would be best to tee it in to the bottom hose the same as the heater return.

my heater bypass pipe was quite corroded so have made a new one with a branch for the manifold outlet.
