small cooling fans
I'm after a set of twin cooling fans to fit in a 17.5" by 10" space. Been down the scrappy and nothing was suitable, anyone know of anything that might fit?
cheers

To fit that you would need 2 x 8 inch fans (Perhaps you could get away with 2 x 9 inch one staggered high and one low across the diagonal)
Try NF Auto

Or Rally design

Go for as large a fan as possible and if possible check the Cubic feet per minute numbers - some are a lot better at moving air than others. (A single 16 inch fan will move about 3- 4 times the air as a single 8 inch)
Then also remember to decide if you need it to push - mounted in front of radiator or pull mounted behind the radiator. (Blade design differs) and as a last thaught make sure it moves the air from front to back of the car! (A GT40 had a terrible time as his fans were wired and pushed the air out the grill - stationery and the car was fine - run it at 20 mph and the fan and normal flow of air cancelled out and he cooked his engine)

Pullers are more efficient.
Ducting the entire core makes a good difference.
I think the smallest normal type fan, is circa 9"
Check ebay.....lots of pullers from motorbikes, at surprisingly nice prices...just bought 2 myself. ( one will be used, but unsure which will fit best )
No idea how much they flow though. They come in small diams too.

the problem is I have an MGB so I cant have a pull fan due to space limitations. I already have a beast of a Kenlowe, but I've made a fancy venturi-type ducting shroud out of aluminium which covers the core exposed above the lower front slam panel (upper one has been removed).
I can fit the fan, but at an angle which isn't ideal. Therefore looking at two small fans.
These would be good, but doesn't give an flow rating.

Go Spal....some of the best.
Check ebay, most give flow ratings there.
The US gets a better range tho

Do you not have the room to fit a pair of MGBV8 fans?
I had my standard V8 rad recored at Serck with slightly larger cores and its fine. Mind you, that was with the Nitrous 3500. I'm not sure how they will behave with the new 4.6 but I'll find out this weekend at the Pod.

This shows a pair of standard BV8 fans. They tuck in front of the rad quite nicely. And they work ok without a shroud. They have tidy brackets that bolt into the front closure panel.

Do you have the diameter of tese bike fans?
I need something to pump fresh air into the cab at traffic crawl and perhaps one of them may do the trick well
Also if yoou have connected them up how noisy are they?
cheers
