SD1 inlet on P6

Post by stroprock »

I have an SD1 manifold which I plan to have cleaned and painted to put on my P6 engine. On the P6 manifold, there's a metal pipe which runs under the manifold for the heater which my SD1 manifold hasn't got; do I swap this over?

Also, the thermostat housing hasn't got the smaller outlet like on the P6, but does have an outlet from the front right (when looking from the front of engine). What is this for and where does it go?

Thanks.

You'll have to swap over the pipe that goes under the manifold, the pipe stub on the front of the SD1 manifold goes to the stub on the rear of the timing cover, you'll need the SD1 thermostat housing, and your P6 manifold is for HS6 carbs which won't fit on the SD1 manifold. You'll also lose the choke warning light temp switch as the SD1 doesnt have those either.
