Rover V8 cooling hoses - manifold

Post by Sammy »

Hi,

There is a pipe that runs underneath the inlet manifold which I think connects to the top of the water pump (that's where the hose appears to fit anyway). There is also a hose connection coming out of the manifold itself which I have no idea where it connects to, could anyone tell me where it goes?

(rusty) manifold hose connection

Thanks!

the pipe goes to where you said at the front, the other one goes on a stub on the rear of the timing cover, the rear connections are for the heater hoses.

Thanks, just worked it out after finding some more of the original hoses hidden in shed!

Both go into the water pump. The stubby one is the thermostat bypass, the other one is the heater return.
