Just updating my PB. I have ran an 11.5 with no gas and managing to get the wheels a couple of feet every run :) Then i went and put 250bhp of gas through and managed to pull a wheelie when i left the line then again just before half track when i went for 3rd. The head gasket went at half track causing me to have no power after half track and i still ,anaged a 10.9 Im sure there is a very low 10 in it yet. I have managed a 10.7 with gas though with 180 bhp of gas. Im just waiting to try to find the best place and not the dearest to get some copper head gaskets. 8)

Great times mate.
Re the head gaskets. Talk to Ant or Dave or Trev at WON. They are now apparrently doing custom made "indestructable" head gaskets.
You can catch up on the info on the WON site.

Incidentally, my run at the USC event was short lived. Pulled a 12.49 on the first full run. Tweaked the gas up to 200hp and blew two pistons at the 1000 foot marker, but coasted over with a 12.46 at only 110mph.

My old 3500 is on your tail mate. And I think I have found the two causes of my melted pistons. 1. she is leaning out at high rpm (easily fixed) 2. The ring gaps are too small. I was wondering why every melted piston was damaged at the join in the top ring.

I'd be happy with an 11.5 with a big shot of gas on my old 3500 BTW.

Well done the Jeepster!!!

Great going. You seem to be getting well towards the numbers you are looking for. Shame about your pistons, Hope you find some more at a decent price. If your about when i come down south racing we should have a head to head. There wont be much between us with a decent reaction time. :) Good luck, Adam.

Adam
My cheap Rover standard pistons are only 13 quid each. So I can afford to melt a few.
Taslking of meeting up at the Pod. I would recommend the Retro day next year as the weather will be better. I'm going to the Pod for the whole weekend on 13th and 14th October. Its the Saturday ngith special + RWYB on the Sunday. At least if I bung the tent up I can brave out the weather if its naff eh?
Yet another year fizzles out with me on the verge of better times as the weather gives out??
I suppose I'll do what I did last year. Test the car on the local by pass over Xmas.

Haha, Just like the saying ten a penny. I went to the first retro cars then havnt managed to get to any more. I was just watching though. How many runs do you get ? As i heard it was £15 for 3 runs only. We talked about going to the one this year to race but thats as far as it went. I might get down as there are a lot of nice cars that go.

The running was well slow on the Retro day this year. I got 11 runs in with no problems. There were loads of cars there, but as the queue was so low they let me go time and again withhout having to give up my wrist tags.
