Mk1 Escort
The build of the car has progressed a little since I was last on here so I thought you'd appreciate an update
This was the car when it was last on track about 3 yrs back
It came back looking like this
so I took the rear apart to see what was wrong (compressed spring) and it ended up being a full back to bare metal strip down.
In the time it's taken to rebuild I've managed to source a set of Zakspeed arches as I wanted to build a replica of the 1974 Castrol coloured car
A lot of work to blend these arches in
and here's the car in primer
Now in white base coat and being marked up for the stripes
Green going on
followed by red
and here's the car outside wearing it's new colours. The front spoiler still needs painting in this shot
and now up to date, these were taken yesterday when I was test fitting the new split rims - soon be finished and back on the road / track
This is a very brief update but if you click my signature there's loads of pics etc about the car as it was and of the rebuild

No worries, I just never got round to it and as it's a track car it'll be stone chipped to hell again in no timeAJ wrote:Dont mean to be picky because its a beautiful car which you have obviously done alot of work to so why not sort the ripples out at the front before you painted it
Sorry just wondering
